Animation
When Major League pitcher Johann Santana joined the New York Mets, his design team contacted John Tayman to create an animation for his website.
The Mets requested that the animation show the #7 train, which is a direct line to the stadium, a bunch of kids and Mr. Met, their mascot.
Johann said “Make me the Terminator”.
The International Tennis federation asked John to create a series of instructional animations to be used on their Anti-Doping section of their website. Shown here is the part that details banned substances.
This was created as an interactive instructional animation, and there are portions that required the viewer to make choices to progress the video. Since this above is just a video version, the choices were made as a demonstration and can be seen as they happen. The animations were intended to be humorous. John also provides the narration voice-over.
(This was produced as a Shockwave Flash animation. Due to the interactivity the conversion to a video format for use in this portfolio has caused some slight visual issues, most notably in transitions. )
BANG! Cartoons
Between 2003 aand 2012, John Tayman created over 150 Bang! cartoons. They found a niche and lampooned the NFL and sports in general. The cartoon displayed was released April 27, 2019.
